Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled

Right now, the world is a scary place. With Nuclear threats from North Korea looming it is hard to know what will happen next. The news is filled with threats that can consume our thoughts and attention and may even keep us awake. One of the three components of True Health is Peace of Mind. The Good News is… Peace of Mind can be attained.  So far with my blog posts we have explored ways to enhance the first two components of True Health, which are: a Healthy Body and Healthy Finances. Now it’s time to explore the third component: Peace of Mind, or Spiritual Health.

IMAGINE having this kind of Peace of mind:

27 Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.] John 14:27 Amplified Bible (AMP) Copyright © 2015 by The Lockman Foundation, La Habra, CA 90631. A momentous event, of life and death importance, took place about 2,000 years ago. Many call it the Great Exchange, because, in effect, Jesus said, “Give me your sin and I will give you my Righteousness.” It’s described in the following verse:

21 He made Christ who knew no sin to [judicially] be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we would become the righteousness of God [that is, we would be made acceptable to Him and placed in a right relationship with Him by His gracious lovingkindness]. 2 Corinthians 5:21 Amplified Bible (AMP)

When an individual simply thanks Him for what He did and accepts it as a free gift they receive “Peace with God.”

Therefore, since we have been justified [that is, acquitted of sin, declared blameless before God] by faith, [let us grasp the fact that] we have peace with God [and the joy of reconciliation with Him] through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed). Romans 5:1 Amplified Bible (AMP)

Once we have peace with God we can experience that amazing moment to moment peace as described in John 14:27 above that says Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.
